We have approved RustDesk as our primary choice for connecting and supporting our clients. Some of the decisions are based on how complicated the other tools have become for our clients to download, install and then provide the necessary information to us in order to start a remote support session. In addition to this, we are now hosting the session control and encrypting each session purely between us.
If you are seeing this page in order to get started with RustDesk, then follow these quick steps to get up and running and using our servers.
RustDesk Installation :
If you have not already downloaded RustDesk, you can do so directly from this link or visit their page for other OS versions.
Once Downloaded, run the file and you will be presented with the following screen to complete the Install. Select Install from the Pink Block
Select Accept and install
If the User Account Control window appears, select Yes
Once Complete, you are ready with the RustDesk icon on your desktop for future Support.
The final step is to configure it for our Server session control. Select the 3 dots as shown below.
Now Select Network from the left menu, then Unlock network settings and choose Yes.
Then finally click ID/Relay server.
Enter the details as shown below with remote.pro2col.co.za for both the ID server and Relay server, then click OK
Finally, select Home as indicated to return to the main window
All that is left is to provide us with the ID and One-time password for us to connect.
Once we have these details and enter the connection request, you will be prompted with the permission screen shown below. Now accept for us to take control and support you remotely. Please do not move the keyboard and mouse during this session as we will have control over this.
