Why use Two-Factor Authentication
Relying on just usernames and passwords to secure your online accounts is no longer considered safe. Data breaches occur daily and hackers are always inventing new ways to take over your accounts. Protect yourself by enabling two-factor authentication (2FA). This blocks anyone using your stolen data by verifying your identity through your device. Enable 2FA now to protect your accounts online.
Selecting Authy during Microsoft 365 Login
When we enable 2FA for our clients and in most cases, now forced by Microsoft, you will need to enroll as a once off. If you login to your account and notice the below request to setup the Microsoft Authenticator
1. select “I want to use a different Authenticator App”
2. Download Authy, by Twilio onto your phone or the phone of the user that is signing in.
3. Open Authy on the phone and add Account, Then click next on the PC
4. Using the phone camera in Authy, while adding account, scan the QR code on the PC screen and click next and finish adding the account.
5. Enter the code from within Authy on to the PC screen to verify that the account was added successfully.
6. Verify by adding the mobile number on the screen as requested and then enter the SMS code sent on the PC screen
7. You are now done and should be able to login to your Microsoft account
